"I am blessed"  "I have been blessed" "What a blessing"

What is a blessing?  Do we recognize a true blessing? 

If someone gives me an ice cream and cake party for my birthday, then someone else feeds me fruit and veggies for a birthday present; which one gets the exuberant credit for blessing me??????  Hmmm.

Actually, both could have long term affects on my body.  Maybe not eternal.

What about God's eternal blessing.  Do we recognize what he does for our good as a blessing?  He led His chosen ones out of slavery and sin, yet they grumbled and did not recognize the blessing.  They were wanting ice cream and cake.

Help me, Lord, to see when I am truly blessed.
