ONLY THE BLOOD CAN COVER MY SIN

     Man was originally created covered with the glory of God.  The only thing they could not do in the Garden was to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  When they broke that one rule, their covering was gone. 

     They tried on their own, but a covering of leaves could not hide their sin (missing the mark of the likeness of God).  God sacrificed an animal and covered their nakedness with the skin and fur.

    Later their son Abel offered a blood sacrifice to the Lord.  He did this in remembrance of God, and doing it God's way.

     Cain, on the other hand, wanted to be religous and offer a sacrifice.  But, Cain thought he could do it better than Abel or God.  He gave of his harvest.  No doubt he probably thought it was pretty good stuff.  But, it was plant life similar to what his parents and tried to cover their sin with. 

     The devil had conned Cain, too.  He was convinced that he had a better way than God. 

     Jesus had the best sacrifice of all.  He gave his own blood for our sin.  His blood sacrifice was for all.  Praise Him that we don't have to offer sacrifices anymore.

     We only have to believe and give to Him the glory, honor and our praises.
